SUB-SLAB & BASEMENT INSULATION

Insulate the inside of your foundation to prevent radon gas exposure.

Due to factors like high humidity, flooding and mold, the basement is often a high-risk area. The new energy requirements of Part 11 of the Quebec Construction Code (CCQ), state that it is now mandatory to insulate under the concrete slab of the basement. The insulation must have a minimum rating of R-5 full surface or R-7.5 over 4 feet (1.2 meters) around the perimeter. Additionally, protection against subsurface gasses (subsection 9.13.4 of the CCQ), primarily radon, must be installed to meet these requirements.
